Akros Energy is a German company, based in Rostock-Laage and backed by H2APEX with EU funding, developing chemical hydrogen-storage technology that stores hydrogen safely in salt-based carriers rather than as pressurized or cryogenic gas. It positions the approach as a zero-hazard, cost-efficient alternative to liquid hydrogen, ammonia and other carrier technologies for transporting and deploying hydrogen at industrial scale.
