It launched investments in June 2020 with an initial €40.4 million mandate, subsequently expanded by €15.3 million from the Slovak Recovery and Resilience Plan in 2024, extending its investment period through 2026. VFF focuses exclusively on Slovak innovative SMEs and EU companies with capital ties to Slovakia, deploying €400,000–€7 million per company. Since inception it has backed 16 companies including Photoneo, Sensoneo, Fuergy, and Powerful Medical.
